Wigan St Judes u12 6 Crosfields u12 26

CROSFIELDS reached the final of the u12s North West Counties Cup for the first time in 28 years, with victory over Wigan St Judes.

Lewis Stanway opened the scoring with some good footwork to get through the St Judes defence and score between the sticks.

Another try came soon after through Joe Kohe Love with Stanway again adding the extras, before Paul Cragg made it a comfortable 16-0 at the interval.

The second half started much the same with the young Warrington side looking like they could run away with it in the semi final.

The third set of the half took Crosfields further clear when the ball was moved from left to right through quick hands to set up a play for Dean Beddall to crash over in the corner.

Judes refused to give up and got their first try with seven minutes remaining.

It was Crosfields that finished off the scoring though with Kohe Love going over left of the sticks to secure their place in the final.

The young Soap team will play Halton Farnworth at Preston Grasshoppers ground on Sunday, July 13, to settle the destination of the cup.
