WARRINGTON Athletics Club took 36 medals in the Cheshire Championships at Macclesfield with the club’s athletes claiming 16 gold, 12 silver and eight bronze.

The club had 36 athletes representing it and coming away with 42 personal bests, with some athletes achieving more than one.

Carys McAuley achieved a double victory and two personal best times in the under 17s 300m with a time of 40.25secs and the 800m in 2mins 14.68secs.

Sarah McGrail won the 3000m in 10mins 22.21secs with Victoria Ramsbottom taking the bronze medal in 10mins 52.14secs.

Eleanor Baker won two silver medals in the 100m in 13.07secs and in the 200m in 26.4secs.

In the under 15s age group, Melissa Boyer took the gold medal in the 800m with a time of 2mins 19.27secs with Lauren Ferris in bronze medal position with a time of 2mins 22.53secs.

Ferris also claimed gold in the 1500m with a time of 4mins 49.28secs with Boyer in second place with a time of 4mins 53.04secs.

Hannah Shaw took part in three events taking gold in the high jump with 1.30m and bronze in the 75m hurdles in 12.95secs.

Cameron Field took two titles in the men’s under 20s events, winning the 800m in a personal best 1min 58.54secs and 1500m in 4mins 05.72secs leading Chris Fance in silver position with a time of 4mins 22.75secs.

In the under 17s group, the 800m was won by Daniel Evans in a new personal best time of 1min 55.32secs moving to fifth in the UK rankings and leading Robert Dykes to the silver medal in 2mins 00.88secs.

Cameron Meakin won silver medals in both the 100m hurdles and long jump with a personal best 14.29secs for the hurdles and 5.94m in the long jump.

Fisayo Williamson-Taylor won a double gold in the under 15s 100m and 200m in 11.37secs and 23.71secs respectively and also claimed a silver in the long jump with 5.38m, which were all personal best performances.

In the 1500m Jack Stubbings won the silver medal in 4mins 28.88secs with Sam Rostron in the bronze medal position in a new best of 4mins 40.09secs.

Ben Robinson won a double gold in the under 13s 100m and 200m with new best times of 13.36secs and 26.93secs respectively and a leap of 1.20m secured him the silver medal in the high jump.

Sam Evans completed the 800m in 2mins 20.83secs and the 1500m with the third fastest time in the UK of 4 mins 45.56secs.

In the under 13s 75m hurdles Joseph Williams took the silver medal in a best time of 15.16secs.
