BRIAN Gleave helped administer a first defeat of the season on St Oswalds B.

He was Tetley A’s best winner with 21-11 in a 256-263 success in Warrington and North Cheshire Bowls Association’s Redline Recruitment Monday League Section A.

Chris Naylor recorded a 21-6 victory for the home side, who now share top spot with Alford A King and Queen A had 12 winners in their 252-145 victory at Burtonwood A, Damian Morrison’s 21-2 and the 21-4 cards from Dave Twigg and John Brown being the highlights.

Wins from Trevor Jackson 21-9 and Dennis Brown 21-12 helped Grange B to a 235-224 success over St Oswalds A.

Section B leaders Tetley B were defeated 9-6 by third placed Rylands A, with the top wins coming from Ian Walsh 21-3 and Stuart McIntyre 21-9. Neil Simpson replied 21-9.

Second placed King and Queen B recorded a 190-4 victory over Culcheth A, with Andrew Payton 21-5 and Colin Deakin 21-7 the shinig lights. C Dickenson took the visitors’ sweep 21-9.

Vulcan defeated Woolston A 9-5, with Kenny Kerr the top winner 21-5, while Ian Porter replied with a 21-7 card.

Triumphs from Chris Wightman 21-4 and Sean O’Brien 21-7 helped Orford WM A to a 10-5 victory at GESM B.

Stag A lead the way in Section C following a 9-5 success over Penketh BC.

Mike Jones 21-9 and Dennis Aldred 21-10 were the top home winners, while Gary Webb tresponded 21-11.

Orford WM B are second after defeating Cadishead 10-4. Top winners were Terry Screawn 21-6 and Joe Shaw 21-8, while Dave Yates was the best visitor 21-9.

Crosfields scored a narrow 8-6 success over Monks Hall, Kevin Parkinson taking the sweep 21-8. John Davies replied with a 21-10 card.

Alan Hill 21-4 and Alan Haddock 21-11 were Alford B’s top winners in the 10-4 victory over Padgate. Goerge Barrett replied with a 21-7 win.
