MAGIC Weekend brought the best out of Warrington Wolves’ fans, with boss Tony Smith praising their vocal support for his side.

A sea of primrose and blue could be spotted in the far corner of the stadium, but heard from well outside the Etihad throughout the whole day.

And Smith said their support made it feel like a home game for his charges, who enjoyed a comprehensive victory against St Helens.

“Absolutely brilliant, loved them,” he said. “They were singing not just during our game but well before our game all day.

“I think they’ve been in strong voice. Fantastic, they really made it a home game for us again.”

Wolves have won three from three at the Etihad on Magic Weekends, including successive triumphs over Saints, with Smith joking he would like to play there for every away fixture.

“We like Magic,” he added. “We’re going to look to play all our away games at Etihad if we can arrange that and our home games at Halliwell – that’d suit us down to the ground.

“It’s our day today, it worked out well for us. Saints are still a good team and will trouble a whole lot of good teams this year, hopefully we might be able to trouble a couple ourselves.”
