Warrington u19 26 Old Brodleians u19 13

WARRINGTON’S senior colts stormed past Old Brodleians in the Raging Bull Cock of the North Challenge Cup final to claim a record-breaking fourth trophy of the season.

The under 19s side had already won the Raging Bull Senior Colts League A title, the Lancashrie Cup and the League Cup in recent weeks, and went into the game in high spirits wanting to be the first team to win all four honours.

Warrington soon realised the threat of the Yorkshire Cup champions when they started the game well and got the breakthrough after 10 minutes.

The deficit was reduced minutes later when Ben Hockehull converted a penalty for Warrington and then Cameron Lewis went over to put his side in the lead for the first time.

Brods soon hit back with another score but it was Warrington who went into half time with a narrow 11-10 lead.

Yorkshire’s finest looked tired after the break and the second half started much better for Warrington with Joe Wilson powering down the right channel to claim a fantastic try.

Brods converted a penalty, but it was not enough to disrupt Warrington’s attacking momentum and Wilson crossed again soon after to open the gap.

Some consistent pressure saw Warrington awarded another penalty as the clock ticked down, which Hockenull banged over to conclude the last match together as a team.
