WOOLSTON Rovers A suffered a narrow defeat at Accrington Panthers in North West Men’s League Division Two on Saturday despite a sterling performance.
The home side went 6-0 up after 10 minutes before Mike Ward stormed through to close the gap to 6-4 at half time.
The second half was a tight affair with Dan Fearnley and Conor Gerrard’s tries for Rovers proving to be not quite enough for the win.
Rovers coach Chris Ball said: “The performance was a massive improvement on the past few weeks and hopefully we can build on this, and if we can then the results will start going in our favour.”
