RYLANDS’ poor form continued on Saturday as they suffered a heavy defeat at Knutsford.

Winning the toss and batting first the home side scored 206 off their 45 overs, with three wickets apiece for Graeme Rowlands and Sam Mulholland.

In reply, the early loss of openers Buck and Platt set off a dismal collapse as Rylands were bowled out for 44, with Sean Peters the only man to offer any resistance with a top score of 21.

The seconds held out for a tense draw at home to Knutsford seconds.

Batting first, Knutsford amassed a formidable total of 266, Jordan Carroll's 4 for 66 the pick of the bowling.

Opener Sujith set about the task of chasing from the start of the innings, top scoring with a quick fire 44, but as wickets steadily fell it was left to the last wicket pair of Carroll and Dan Spence to keep out the Knutsford attack, blocking out the final six overs with Knutsford's field surrounding them to earn a draw.
