OULTON PARK hosted 340 riders across 18 races during the Wirral 100 Club’s smooth running premier motorcycle race day at the weekend.

Sean Neary, from Lymm, raced his 1100cc Ducati 848 in two powerbikes races. In the first he started from fifth and quickly gained two places to finish in a very pleasing third place overall out of some 39 starters.

In the second race he gained the lead by the end of lap two but over the next three laps got passed by three other riders and eventually had to settle for fourth place.

Warrington’s John Potts, with Neil Dutton as his acrobatic passenger, were racing their 1000cc Suzuki sidecar in the FSRA F350 Post Classic races. They finished 13th overall and third in their class.

Also from Lymm was George Murray, who raced his 250cc Yamaha in the Classic and Forgotten Era races.

Good fortune was not on his side, starting from second place on the grid he held third spot until the last lap when he was forced to retire with a problem that prevented him from starting the second race.
