STRETTON sit joint top of the Cheshire Cricket Alliance Division One after beating the Groves by 99 runs on Saturday.
Ali Zuberi, 81, Ehsan Malik, 29, and Junaid Mir 28, saw Stretton reach 227.
Groves were looking good at 87 for 2 from 26 overs, but Hamid Raza took three wickets in four overs and Junaid Mir mopped up the tail ending with 5 for 19 in 13 overs.
They face Old Parkonians on Saturday.
Stretton second team lost to Groves, no one support skipper Richard Taylor, 64, setting a total of 112.
Ben Bravington and William Metcalfe reduced Groves to 50 for 5, but the sixth wicket partnership saw Groves home, winning by four wickets.
