SIX athletes from Warrington competed in the classic Rivington Pike fell race at Horwich on Saturday, with one of them having a fantastic result.
Less than a minute behind the winner was Warrington Athletics Club’s Liam Burthem, who was seventh in 18mins 10secs and first in the under 18s category.
His time was 84 seconds faster than last year’s under 18s winner and 3mins 30secs faster than his dad, Steve Burthem, set in 2010.
