WARRINGTON Wolves have released goal-kicking centre/winger Ryan Shaw from his contract by mutual consent.
The 22-year-old Cumbrian has been on loan to hometown club Barrow Raiders this season and has since signed with Bobbie Goulding’s squad until the end of the current Championship campaign.
Last August he signed a new deal to keep him with the Super League club until November 2015, and he went to Australia with Wolves in January for the club's three-week warm weather training camp.
But now he joins the likes of James Mendeika, Ben Hellewell and Brooke Broughton to have been in Wolves’ full-time environment without gaining a first-team call-up other than in pre-season friendlies.
Shaw, who has also figured with Wolves’ partner club Swinton Lions, joined the club in January 2009 after having represented Cumbria and England at under 16s level.
A brief Wolves statement says: “The club thank him for his service and wish him well.”
