GEORGE Murray from Lymm was racing his 1990 250cc Yamaha at Oulton Park in the NG Road Racing Championship.
Murray was treating his first race of the season as a chance “to blow winter cobwebs away and prove that the bike was OK”.
With 25 bikes in total entered (and eight in his particular class) he would have plenty of opposition to sharpen himself up for the new season.
Having qualified third in his class, 14th overall, he started the main race with confidence but lost two places in the usual scramble into the first corner but gained one of those back in the second lap and then went on to finish 15th overall, fourth in his class.
This result put a smile on his (now cobweb free) face and he was looking forward to the next races.
