THE Warrington and District League’s representative team competed against the county’s finest in the Cheshire Junior Inter-League tournament.
An under 15s team of Dan Weaver, Tej Pradham, Cameron Naylor, Som Dhulipala, Emma Weaver and Kitti Sathyanathan finished fifth after losses to Chester, East Cheshire, Wirral and Crewe.
The under 19s fared better, placing third in a five-strong competition after beating both Wirral and Chester only to suffer defeats against Crewe and East Cheshire.
Conor Hutchinson, Mike Pope, Ben Keen, Alistair Hawgood and Amy Bremner represented Warrington.
The latter won all four of her mixed games.
“It was an excellent performance by all of our players,” said coach Paul Hawgood.
“We only fielded one girl in the older age group, so started each match one game down before a shuttle was hit.
“Despite this we had two good wins and only missed out narrowly against Crewe, losing after a decider.”
