Scores came from Reece Brunt, Nathan Holbrook, Jack Fox and Alex Green, with Harry Reardon kicking three conversions.

SOME lovely rugby played by Rovers who raced to a 20-point lead. Tries came from player-of-the-match Sam Vernon, three, and Kieran Cripps, two.

WOOLSTON got going after a slow start with scores from Gabe Twist, George Hickey, two, Louis Griffiths, top-tackler Morgan Bolton, player-of-the-match Matthew Nash, two, and parents’ award winner Ethan Taylor with his first try.

Coach’s award went Tom Stagg and trainer of the week to Ben Van’t Sant.

EAGLES’ player-of-the-match Adam Livesey scored two tries and two goals, added to by a try from most improved Nicholas Hughes. Good displays from Sam McHardy, Benjamin Smith and Sam Lea.

WOOLSTON’S try, scored after three sharp passes, sent player-of-the-match Connor Wrench flying down the wing.

LATCHFORD made a short trip up the East Lancs Road to play Leigh Miners in a hard-fought contest.

Tries came from Will McDonnell and George Roby.

RYLANDS matched Thatto with four tries each, two from player-of-the-match Andrew Biddle and one each for Reece Musgrave and Joshua Morris. Coach’s award went to Corey Nickel Richardson, parents’ award to Tom Smith.

A FIRST win of the season for the under 11s. Top tackler was Max Smith and Mitchell Clynes scored a hat-trick of tries.

Nathan McGuire showed the true spirit of the game by volunteering to play for the opposition when they lost a player. Pass of the game came as Ellis Lee put Sam Johnson through to score.

EAGLES faced a well-drilled Waterhead side and showed some great set pieces and dummy runs.

RYLANDS demonstrated an awesome defence for a well-earned victory. Tries on the day were from Harry Sinclair and Connor Barton.

Player-of-the-match was Lewis Owens, top tackler Reuben Holt, leadership qualities Connor Barton and coach’s player Lewis Dixon.

Culcheth Eagles u7 36 Ince Rose Bridge u7 12

AN evenly-matched game was opened up by Eagles’ final runs for a 3-1 lead at half time.

In the second half the Eagles’ defence shone through, led by best defender Rhys. Four tries earned Jenson player-of-the -match, Harley collected most improved.

A FANTASTIC defensive effort from both sides saw Woolston sneak the win thanks to a try from Luke Platt.
