WARRINGTON'S men’s hockey first team ended their season in second place with a 3-1 win.
Steve Worrall put a dazzling finish into the roof of the net and Ben Vickers scored a penalty flick after first team debutant AJ Edwards had seen his shot blocked by a foot on the line.
Vickers added the winning goal in a successful season.
THE men’s second team finished by snatching a point in their encounter with Winnington Park.
At 2-0 down after a lacklustre first half things looked bad, but a rousing second half performance, aided by an own goal and a great strike from Richard Taylor, helped the seconds to finish their first season on a positive note.
WARRINGTON women’s first team recorded their biggest win of the season with an 8-0 thrashing of Macclesfield Bollington in their penultimate game.
The team’s leading scorers, Steph Rawlins and Steph Lace, continued to fight it out for top spot as they took turns to score on their way to a hat-trick each.
Warrington’s pass and move play was inspirational, led by the central midfield pairing of Louise Sullivan and Kate Connolly.
Emma Barlow and Sally Froggatt finished off the scoring, with Sally’s first goal for the first team in a season where she has shown great improvement.
