WARRINGTON campus men’s football third team must win their final game of the season to be crowned league champions following a 3-2 defeat to second-placed UCLAN, writes Ashley Thornton-Jones.
A win or draw would have secured the league title for Warrington, but goals from Theo Logan and Matty Moore were not enough against the resilient hosts, who now hold a two point lead at the top, but with no games remaining.
The Padgate side face Burnley next week in their final game, knowing a victory will be enough to win the league.
Elsewhere, the first team will finish the season in fourth place, following a final day 5-3 defeat to Keele.
