Parkrun records broken

SIX Warrington Athletics Club runners took part in the Parkrun at Victoria Park on Saturday, March 15.

Steve Burthem led them home in sixth place with a time of 19mins 49seconds and was followed by Tony McCarthy in 14th place in 20mins 42secs.

Next home was Dave Tomkins in 32nd place, improving his course record for the 65-69 age group to 22mins 37secs.

Ten-year-old Charlotte Stokes was next, again improving her junior women up to 10 age group record to 24mins 52secs.

Jim Russell was the next club runner in 89th place in 26mins 26secs, coming first in the 60-64 age group, and Neville Jones was the final runner from the club topping his 75-79 category record in 35mins 58secs.
