TWO Warrington Athletics Club athletes took part in the British Masters Indoor Championships at Lee Valley London over the weekend of March 8 and 9.

In the men’s over 45s age group Neal Petley collected two bronze medals in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.94secs and the long jump with a jump of 4.88m.

In the women’s over 50s age group Julie Hicken competed in three events.

In the 60m she ran a personal best time of 9.38secs to finish fourth in her heat but did not progress to the final.

In the 200m there were two heats run as time trials with the medals being awarded to the fastest three from the two heats.

Julie won her heat in a personal best of 31.28secs but missed out on the bronze medal by 0.04secs with the first three in the other heat beating her time.

In the 400m she again had to run time trial heats and finished in fifth place with a time of 75.18secs.
