Billinge Res 7 Eagle Sports Res 3
EAGLE Sports Reserves turned in a woeful first half performance, leaving themselves 5-1 down at the break.
After falling a goal behind, they equalised when Gary Moriarty fired home after Joe Thomas’ initial effort was saved by the Billinge keeper.
They were level for only a minute when a defensive mix-up between Rob Hall and Gareth Williams allowed the Billinge striker to put the ball into an empty net.
More poor play followed as Eagle were susceptible on the counter attack and three more goals went into the Eagle net before the half time whistle.
Eagle did turn in a much-improved performance in the second half, gaining two goals through Neil Wearing. However, they did also concede two goals to make it a bad day at the office for Paul Derbyshire’s side.
Eagle Hall, Robinson, G Williams, Gibson, Heywood, Thomas, Maher, Burthem, Stephenson, Moriarty, Wearing.
Subs: Nixon, Derbyshire, Barrett.
