FORMER Warrington Guardian Sports Personality winner Abi Fitzpatrick has scooped 400m silver at the British University and College Sports Championships in Sheffield.
The 21-year-old Sale Harriers athlete, who actually specialises in the 400m hurdles, earned passage into a tightly contested final when breezing through the heats and recording the third-fastest time in the semi finals.
In the final she ran a credible second place behind champion 400m runner Amy Wilcock in a time of 54.72 seconds.
Fitzpatrick can now look forward to the hurdling season and her eyes are firmly focused on a place at The 2014 Commonwealth Games.
