Captain said Lymm should have won

FOR the second week in a row Lymm came close to toppling a high-flying Hinkley side only to let them back in it at the death.

Captain Sion Williams said: 'We missed tackles and missed opportunities to be clinical, to yet again, finish sides off. They are a top end team and we should have won.”

Hinkley’s fly half skipped over for the opener, before a penalty soon after the re-start was slotted by right wing Cormac Nolan in the Midlands National League Three encounter.

Hinkley extended their lead to 10-3, but the Lymm forwards led a powerful line break from hooker Adam Bray, who passed to open side Sam Mullarkey to steam over for a converted try.

Nolan exchanged penalties with the hosts and Tim Oakes came off the bench and his break led to a feed to Adam Bray who passed out of the tackle to his brother, centre Tom Bray, who sprinted in.

Nolan converted from wide out, but Hinkley brought the half time score back to 16-20.

Hinkley added a converted try to take the lead before Andy Rowley touched down, Nolan converted and Lymm were back in the driving seat.

However, a converted hinkley try levelled the scores at 30-30 with five minutes to go, but they soon regained the lead.

Another penalty put the game out of Lymm's reach, despite Nolan dispatching a penalty late on.
