Warrington Guardian: Game called off after making trip from Coventry Game called off after making trip from Coventry

DESPITE the efforts of Lymm’s volunteer grounds-care team the weather caused Saturday's National League Three Midlands game to be postponed.

League leaders Broadstreet made their first trip from Coventry to Lymm, but after much deliberation it was decided none of the Beechwood pitches were fit for the level of rugby.

Lymm had been taking advice all week from Trevor Fisher, ex-Premiership referee and now a regular television match official.

A pitch considered to be playable at the time the visitors boarded their coach was deemed unfit shortly after their arrival after heavy rain.

The game is scheduled to be played on Saturday.

However, Lymm’s third team managed to overcome the weather and enjoyed a 29-0 win against Fylde Vikings.
