WARRINGTON’S Olympic Water Polo player Hazel Musgrove helped the GB Women’s team qualify for July’s European Championship finals.
The 24-year-old was one of 13 women selected for the final qualifying match against Portugal in Holland, which GB won 14-8 to finish second behind Group A tournament hosts the Netherlands.
GB had already won matches against Ukraine and Israel, and victory in their final qualification match means they will join the winners of Group B and pre-qualifiers Italy, Russia, Greece and Hungary for the finals in Budapest.
With qualification secured, Musgrove travels with GB to Barcelona today, Monday, where they will play a Worlds qualifier against the world champions, Spain on Tuesday.
She will then fly back to Athens the following day, Wednesday, in time for a Greek National League match for her professional side Ethnikos this weekend.
