A POOR second-half performance left boss Shaun Reid frustrated as his Warrington Town side gave up a one-goal lead to lose at Lancaster City on Saturday.

Ciaran Kilheeney opened the scoring but Sam Wills, Jordan Connerton and Mark Jackson strikes condemned Town to a second successive defeat.

And Reid was disappointed by the uncharacteristic manner with which his side conceded the first.

“The first half was magnificent,” he explained. “But then before the break we gave away a sloppy goal.

“That’s frustrating as I pride my side on defending dead-ball situations and we’ve been conceding too many recently.

“I was disappointed we didn’t apply ourselves the way I’d expect in the second half, but the boys are disappointed too and I made my feelings very clear – they know that’s not good enough.”

Kilheeney’s opener came from Aaron Bowen’s delivery after he was released down the right flank by Chris Gahgan.

Connerton and Jackson notched second-hallf goals as Yellows struggled in difficult playing conditions.

“It was the most horrendous conditions I have ever seen a football match played in, but both teams had to deal with it,” added Reid.
