Grange FC u12 1 Irlam Rangers u12 5
THE Warrington Guardian-sponsored ended their 2013 campaign with a heavy defeat to top-of-the-league opponents Irlam Rangers.
A bright start meant the game was evenly balanced, with Grange making more of the early chances as a result of winning most of the midfield play.
Another fine upfield punt from keeper Dan Jones put Josh Bushnell through one-on-one with Irlam's keeper and his angled shot put Grange ahead 1-0, a lead they held through to half time.
Irlam changed their game completely after the restart, putting pressure on Grange's defence and within five minutes had equalised with a fine strike which took a deflection past the Grange keeper.
From that point Irlam dominated the game, with their sharp attack building pressure on a weakening defence to add another four goals to the scoreline.
