WITH only 11 players making the long journey to Lancashire, Lymm’s third team succumbed to defeat against a battling Burnley side.
But despite their numerical disadvantage the Lymm lads showed great team spirit and commitment and more than matched their opponents for long periods of the game.
John Long’s first half penalty put Lymm on the board, but though they added to that with a fine try from Mike Halloran, the hosts were far too strong for Lymm to cause an upset.
