NEWTON Social extended their lead at the top of Warrington League’s Division One courtesy of a 5-2 defeat of Richmonds A.
That was led by two breaks worth 38 and a season-high run of 81 from Wayne Brown.
GESM A lost for only the second time this season, Woolston A beating them 4-3.
Division Two remains close after the 5-2 win by Bridgewater Club at Richmonds B moved them to within a point of leaders Culcheth Sports B.
Third-placed GESM C lost ground after they went down 5-2 at Monks A, while Walkers B – in fourth position – also wasted an opportunity after after losing 4-3 at home to GESM B.
There was no game for Division Three leaders Kings Club C, but Penketh Cons A and Kings Club A – both defeated – failed to take advantage.
