THREE of Warrington Rowing Club’s junior squads made their mark at the Head of The Float in Birkenhead Docks on Saturday.
For some of the 13 youngsters, the time trial was a first taste of competition.
They quickly got the hang of it.
Wins were achieved by under 13s boys and girls rowers, the successful crews being Austin Carr, Sam Dickenson, Angus Stewart and Josh Critchley with cox Megan Dunbavand as well as Feona Donnelly-Worthington, Maddie McCormick, Ella Stanhope, Lauren Edgar with cox Katie Shard.
The under 14s girls’ crew of Alix Tavernier, Dominique Billingham, Izzy Oldland, Becky Marsh and cox Dan Lee finished more than 20 seconds ahead of their closest challengers.
The under 16s girls’ quad of Ellie Mcloughin, Lucy Stanhope, Pippa Curran and Aysha Wooler were crowned overall fastest female crew.
