Warrington Guardian: Sign of progress Sign of progress

Anselmians 2nd 17 Warrington 3rd 31

PROGRESS of Warrington’s third string was marked in Saturday’s success at Anselmians.

Captain Sean McDermott said: “Anselmians totally outplayed us in the second match of the season but since then we have lost only two games as the side has developed.”

Warrington’s forwards soon assumed control although scoring was tit-for-tat until the second half.

Tony Fretwell, Paul McKay, Tom Hockenhull, John Morris and Jonathan Hughes crossed for tries, with Matt Drinkwater adding three conversions.

“It was an expecially pleasing win,” said McDermott.
