WARRINGTON Guardian sports sponsorship winners Grange FC under 12s football team brushed off the disappointment of a cup exit to make a winning return to league action against Weston Point in Runcorn.

A bright, positive start helped to put the spring back in the boys’ step and after eight minutes they opened a lead they would never relinquish when Joe Radcliffe punished a poor clearance to open the scoring.

Confidence flowed from the early goal and Grange held firm in defence as Weston attempted to get back on level footing.

A strong start to the second half from Weston meant Grange’s back line was tested with quick breaks, but it was at the other end that the next goal arrived.

A far post header from Mykal Grange sent Grange into a 2-0 lead and despite continuing pressure from the home side, a long clearance up the field from keeper Dan Jones fell kindly for Jake Robinson to seal a 3-0 win and a three-point haul.
