FOUR Warrington skaters are celebrating silver medal successes.

They are all members of Altrincham Synchronised Skating Club teams that finished runners up in their first competion of the season - the Wales and West International Championships in Cardiff.

Priestley College students Gina Rimmer, aged 16, of Grappenhall, and Katie Cliff, aged 16, of Lymm skated with the Silver Blades team that scored 31.00.

Gorse Covert Primary School’s Emily Severs, aged 11, and Jacob Molyneux, aged 10, were in the Whizz Kids side that registered 19.41.

Coach Sam Ozard is proud of the results as they were competing against strong established teams from all over the country.

The Warrington quartet skate at Atrincham Silver Blades ice rink, have practice during the week at 6am and regular weekend sessions off the ice. They occasionally they train in Widnes too.

Their next competition is the British Championships in Sheffield in January and so the teams are focused on training hard over the next six weeks to improve on their scores from the Cardiff competition.
