Greenalls Padgate St Oswalds 2
Billinge 0
GREENALLS Padgate St Oswalds secured their first victory in six games on Saturday as they marched into the quarter finals of the Guardian Cup.
Billinge were reduced to 10 men after 23 minutes due to James Webb picking up a second yellow card and five minutes later Greenalls went ahead.
Neil Sutch had time to turn before guiding a side-foot lofted effort over keeper Tom Hull.
Billinge’s fate was sealed shortly before half time.
Gareth Johns whipped in a corner and Paul Dobson leaped high to score a thumping diving header that also sent him flying into the goal.
Billinge looked brightest in a slower-paced second half and they beat the offside trap in the 58th minute but the shot found the hands of grateful goalkeeper Craig Clare.
Greenalls: Craig Clare, Paul Dobson, Gareth Johns (Lee Vaughan), Alex Hardman, Adam Jones, Glen Percival, Lee Hughes, Mark Hughes, Neil Sutch, Craig Hoyland, Chris Rogers. Subs not used: Robbie Hanley, Ellis Houghton.
