WARRINGTON brothers were on the podium at Oulton Park.
David and Tom McArthur were first and third respectively when each raced a Medina Sport prepared van Diemen LA10 in the Avon Tyres Formula Ford 1600 Northern Championship for post 1989 cars.
In the second race David took the lead but lost it on lap nine, finishing second.
Tom was lying in third until a spin on lap two dropped him down to eighth but he fought his way back up to fourth.
The results meant that David had won the Northern Formula Ford 1600 Championship for post 1989 cars and, marking his day’s work, the Wallpaper Central Autumn Challenge Trophy.
Bram De Groot and Steven Johansen, from Warrington, competed in the Funcup Championship endurance race and took the lead on the first lap.
By lap 20, a small intermittent misfire was costing them about half a second per lap and in such a full and competitive field it was costly, leaving them fifth after 106 laps (285 miles) of hard racing but only 11 seconds behind the race winner.
