12:38pm Thursday 3rd October 2013 in Sport
IT was another successful week for Warrington Guardian sports sponsorship winners.
Dance team, Michael Manning and Annabell Harman: THE pair competed in the All England Championships in Stockport, dancing both ballroom and Latin in the under 35s pre amateur and youth under 21s categories.
Michael and Annabell placed fourth in ballroom and Latin pre amateur and fifth in youth under 21s Latin.
“We received mixed results from the judges,” Michael said.
“Some placed us first and second and others fifth and sixth.
“This can happen when the floor is packed; you can get overlooked at a critical point or when a judge does not like the way you perform your choreography.
“We have to take the positives from the day and move on.”
Crosfields Cobras under 12s rugby league team: COBRAS journeyed to Wigan to face nemesis Ince Rosebridge in a greatly anticipated clash.
Tries from coach’s award winner Marcus Grady and James Machin gave them a dream start and they held a 10-6 lead at the break.
One minute into the second half Sam Peel fought off three defenders to cross in the corner, Lewis Hall’s fantastic touchline kick adding the extras.
Bridge closed the gap to six points, but Hall scored twice either side of another Bridge try to earn the man of the match award as Cobras finished 28-14 winners.
Thomas Mather and Ryan Orr scooped top defender awards, while Spencer Rudd enjoyed the moment of the match.

Grange Football Club under 12s: GRANGE returned to winning ways in the county cup first round at home to Matthiola.
With a side depleted due to illness, they were not daunted by the task of playing higher-ranked opposition.
Skipper Jake Robinson gave his side a two-goal half time lead with a superb free kick and confident penalty.
Matthiola pulled back to 2-2 to force the game to extra time, but Jake Willington was injured leaving Grange with nine men.
However Robinson completed his hat-trick, while further goals from Joseph Ratcliffe and Josh Bushnell – who ran from his own half to beat the keeper – sealed a 5-3 win.
Grange welcome under 12s, pupils in school Year Seven, interested in joining the club.
