WARRINGTON Guardian’s sport sponsorship winners enjoyed a productive week.
Crosfields Cobras under 12s rugby league team: WIGAN outfit Hindley visited Cobras for a fast and furious game, the hosts winning 28-18.
Hall went over from James Machin’s well-placed kick for Cobras’ first.
Machin then scooted over himself to make it 10-6 before half time and Cobras maintained the momentum after the break when Machin got his second from Scott Turton’s kick.
Man of the match Jacob Gallop crossed the whitewash for Cobras’ fourth try and the game ended with a Hall special.
Receiving the ball in his own half, he handed off several defenders to score between the posts.
The coach’s award was given to Hall and Machin, top defender to Marcus Grady and most improved player to Louis Rosslyn.
The next tour fundraising event, a Halloween Fancy Dress Ball, is at Crosfields Recreation Club on Saturday, October 26, 7.30pm. Tickets are £2 per adult and £1 for children. Call Kate on 07793 198260.
Dance team, Michael Manning and Annabell Harman: THE pair have been working on their Paso Doble this week, which they perform at under 21 competitions.
Michael said: “It is a very dramatic and theatrical dance style not usually danced socially.
“As the male, I have to think and move as a matador.
“My partner completes the dance as the cape.
“Our heads and chest are held high to represent arrogance while facial expressions are determined and passionate.”
The pair travel to Stockport, one of their favourite venues, for the All England Ballroom and Latin Championships this Sunday.
