GRAPPENHALL Sports were held to a draw at Lostock Gralam in the Cheshire League’s Division Two on Saturday.
The Grey Lambs established a first half lead through Sam Wakefield, only for their guests to recover thanks to efforts from Sam Shaw and Dan Sisson. Skipper Alex Burns rescued a point for the Northwich outfit.
Grappenhall created several early chances, but lost Adam Rosterne before the break due to injury and the home team took the lead after a counter-attack.
Sports came out on top after the interval, when Shaw fired wide from close range after a clever turn in the area.
The Grappenhall man equalised moments later when he slotted home after a goalmouth scramble.
Sisson made it 2-1 shortly afterwards, racing on to Kurt McCarthy’s through-ball to finish with aplomb.
With the game opening up both sides had chances, but it was Lostock who snatched a share of the spoils when Burns fired high into the net from just inside the penalty area.
