ST OSWALDS A stay top of the Warrington and North Cheshire Bowls Association’s Monday League Section A following a 9-6 win at Grapes.

Top winners were Lee Johnstone, 21-5, and Dave Penketh, 21-13, as Keith Williams took the home sweep 21-15.

Second-placed King and Queen A defeated Grange A 11-4, aided by Chris Goodhand’s 21-7 card and Danny Watson’s 21-8 win.

Wins from Martin McInerny, 21-9, and Peter Rowles, 21-10, helped Grange B score a narrow 8-6 win over Alford A, for whom Liam Lawlor the top visitor 21-10.

Tetley A scored a 10-5 victory at Woolston A, while Rylands A earned a 8-7 win at Eagle A.

Alford B went top of Section D following their 11-3 victory over previous leaders Padgate.

Penketh Tavern scored a 21-3 success at Richmonds A, thanks in no small part to wins from Kenneth White, 21-6, and Stuart Hitchen, 21-8.

Pierpoints recorded an 8-6 win over Woolston B, as wins from Nick Burrows, 21-8, and Brian Mellor, 21-11, helped Bayleaf to an 11-4 victory at St Albans.

Orford WM A stay top of Section C following a 12-3 success at St Patricks, though second-placed Rylands B defeated Richmonds B 10-4, to keep pace.

Tetley C scored a 10-4 win over Red Lion B, as wins from Mal Rabbitt, 21-7, and Dave Duane, 21-9, helped Bulls Head B to a 10-4 success over Grange C.

St Oswalds C took another step to securing the Section F title with a 10-4 win over Monk Sports B.

Irish Club B recorded a 10-4 success against Burtonwood B, meanwhile victories from John Davies, 21-2, and Roy Keates, 21-6, helped Stag B secure a narrow 8-6 victory over Irish Club A.
