James sets new sprint record

JAMES Gladman sliced close to a second off a Warrington Athletics Club record that has remained in the history books for close to half a century when he switched to sprinting last week.
The 20-year-old placed third in the men’s 200m at the Flanders Cup meeting at Ghent, in Belgium, on Saturday where he timed 20.80secs.
John Harrison, who competed in England colours at the Commonwealth Games in 1970, had set the previous club best - 21.5secs - the year before.
Gladman trailed former Olympic Games medallist Walter Dix, who also claimed a silver gong at the World Championships two years ago over 200m and 100m, and training partner Danny Talbot.
Dix, from the United States, crossed the line first in 20.43secs with Talbot a close second in 20.45secs.
