LATCHFORD Albion recorded their second win of the fledgling North West Counties Division One season with a 52-10 demolition of Bold Miners at Victoria Park.

Led superbly by captain Danny Brown and propelled by Martin Whitehead and Kyle Sherratts’s seven-try haul, Albion kicked into gear only after conceding an early converted try.

That proved to be the catalyst for Latchford’s first-half scoring spree, with Whitehead running in four, Kyle Sherratt adding a further three and Craig Middlemore completing a brilliant opening 40 minutes.

Sam Dobson added six goals for a 44-6 half time lead.

It was clear Miners had endured stern words at half time, as they once again struck early after the restart and tightened up their defence to ensure the hosts did not rack up a cricket score.

The result was long gone however, as Jon Hill’s lovely long pass sent Nathan Longmore over before Middlemore added the icing on the cake with his second of the afternoon.
