Dolphins in the medals

A TEAM of five swimmers represented Warrington Dolphins at the North West Masters distance meet.

Using an age conversion formula, the club won medals in 5 out of the 8 individual events, and also claimed gold in the men's 160years+ medley relay.

Judy Brown swam the 1500m in a new Northern Counties record of 19:42.44, and completed a tough programme of events with silver in the 400 metres Individual Medley and gold in the 800m metres freestyle.

Graham Padgett finished in 3rd place in the 400 metres freestyle event, then went on to take the gold medal in the final event of the day, the 800 metres.

The results of last year’s British Swimming National Masters Decathlon competition have also been announced. Over 3 thousand swimmers took part, and the age-related formula is used to determine the top overall Masters swimmers in the country.

Judy Brown finished in 3rd place in the women’s section, whilst Graham Padgett and Russell Mason both secured impressive top-50 finishes with 22nd and 49th respectively in the men’s.
