Breaks for Lloyd and Tsang help in-form Walkers leap to top of the table

WALKERS A are new leaders in Warrington Snooker League Division Two after extending their unbeaten run to seven games with a 6-1 win at Richmonds B.

Chris Lloyd, with a break of 32, and Geoff Tsang, with a 30, helped Rylands B inflict more misery on relegation threatened St Josephs after they beat them 6-1.

Woolston C’s Tony Finnegan enjoyed a decent break of 36 in his frame but they still lost 4-3 at GTBL B.

St Benedicts suffered only their third defeat of the season, going down 4-3 at Penketh Cons A but still lead Division Three by seven points over Woolston B who beat Culcheth Sports A 5-2.

Roosters D are not out of the race for the last promotion place after they won 5-2 at Eagle Sports.

Division One now looks to be a two-horse race between leaders Richmonds A, who won a tight match at bottom club Monks A 4-3, and second-placed Newton Social B, who are one point behind after they beat Alford A 6-1.

Wayne Brown produced a break of 84 and Danny Thomas one of 41 for Newton, with Dean Little a 32 for the losers.

James Short kept up his impressive form with breaks of 53 and 32 as Irlam Cons dented the hopes of Newton Social A, beating them 5-2.

GESM C are struggling against relegation following a 6-1 loss at Alford D.
