NOMINATIONS are now being taken for the Warrington Sports Awards.

Winners of eight categories, recognising outstanding sporting achievements, will be unveiled at a presentation ceremony at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub on Wednesday, March 6.

Seven of the winners will represent the borough at the Cheshire and Warrington Sports Partnership Awards in April.

The categories are club of the year, coach of the year, special recognition award, disabled sports achiever of the year, junior sports achiever of the year, school sports team of the year, volunteer of the year, young volunteer of the year.

All achievements must have been completed by individuals living, training or playing in Warrington, while team entrants should be based within the borough.

Application forms are available from Clive Jones in the council’s sports engagement team via czjones@warrington.gov.uk.

Closing date for entries is Friday, February 22 at 5pm.
