WARRINGTON Dolphins Long Distance Swimming Club enjoyed a successful debut at their new Orford Park facilities when recording a clean sweep at the club’s second annual 1,500m championships.
The five-heat event drew swimmers from across the north west, but it was the Dolphins who triumphed on the day, with Christopher Rix winning the men’s event in 18.40secs and Judy Brown winning the ladies heat in 19.57secs.
Thomas Roberts’ time of 18.57secs was quick enough to win the junior male heat and scoop the championship’s second overall fastest time, while the impressive Sarah Roberts won the junior female section.
Young swimmers also had a chance to compete, with 12 swimmers participating in the new junior 750m event.
