RYLANDS A have increased their lead at the top of Warrington League’s second tier.

A derby victory against Rylands B means their advantage is worth eight points over closest rivals Walkers A, who climbed to second in the standings after winning 5-2 at Woolston C. Elsewhere Walkers B eased their relegation fears after they beat Richmonds B by the odd frame in seven, while St Josephs moved off the bottom following a similarly narrow success against Monks C.

Penketh Tavern B closed the gap at the top of Division Three after they beat Culcheth Sports A 6-1, but are still 12 points behind leaders St Benedicts.

Woolston B are third aftera 5-2 success at Irlam Catholic B.

Pacesetters Richmonds A lost for only the third time this season, at home to Irlam Catholic A, but still have an eight-points lead over Newton Social B in Division One.

Newton won the game of the night against Irlam Cons, Danny Thomas’ 72 break a highlight of a 5-2 victory.
