EAGLE Sports have given rivals a reminder that they are still in the Cheshire League title race.

That message was rammed home with a 6-0 home win against third-placed Denton on Saturday.

Ged McAllister’s 15th minute opener gave Eagle a strong foothold and he continued to shine on his way to a hat-trick.

Chris Quirk, Adam Coleman and Lee Roberts also hit home to see Eagle move up to eighth, 11 points adrift of leaders and reigning champions Knutsford but with two games in hand.

Second-placed Whaley Bridge also kept up the heat at the top with an 8-1 win at struggling Grappenhall Sports.

Two late goals earned Garswood three points after twice being behind to Rylands at Gorsey Lane.

Rylands took the lead after two minutes when Bakkor sneaked on to Walker’s free kick before lobbing the stranded goalkeeper Bednarczyk.

Within three minutes the visitors were level, Chris Francis giving Andy Moor no chance with a left-foot drive into the corner.

Rylands regained the advantage after Bakkor was fouled 25 yards out and Liam Walker thundered the free kick home off the underside of the bar.

Garswood’s deserved equaliser came in the 36th minute.

A corner from Matty Gregory was headed towards goal and with the Rylands defence stationary Scott Tickle headed the ball home.

Few scoring chances were created in the second half.

Just as the game looked likely to end all square Garswood’s Francis pounced on a Mark Evans cross to score his second.

Danny Clarke smashed the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the box to seal the points and move Garswood up to fourth in the table.

Greenalls Padgate St Oswlads disappointed in a 2-1 home loss to Lostock Gralam.

Daten took a 1-0 lead through Calum Wilson into the break at Sandbach United in Division Two.

A lack of discipline in the second half resulted in Daten’s reduction to nine men and Sandbach conjured an equaliser.

Eagle Sports went 1-0 down in the first half at Gamesley in the Reserve Division.

But second-half goals from Chris McMahon, Steve Robinson and Gareth Williams cemented victory and moved them up to fourth.
