FORMER rugby league professionals Jimmy Green and Clive Jones have taken over the coaching reins of Culcheth Eagles’ open-age team.
Wakefield Trinity, Blackpool Borough and Carlisle were Green’s pro clubs, while he also has a long history with Latchford Albion and gained honours at amateur level with Lancashire and BARLA GB.
Jones moved to the area from Aberavon Rugby Union Club, signing for Warrington and having spells with Leigh and Oldham.
They would welcome additional players to help strengthen the existing young Eagles squad.
Training takes place at Shaw Street, Culcheth, on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm.
Last season’s coach Jon McLeod will remain, putting more time into the under 16s as well as helping the club develop their Shaw Street ground.
