WARRINGTON’S junior colts team enter the new year hoping to prosper in the Rugby Football Union’s national under 17s competition.
The five times Lancashire age group champions are unbeaten so far this season in the Raging Bull North West Colts League A, with an impressive 10 wins from 10 matches and scoring 480 points with only 92 conceded in the process.
Coach Conrad Morris said: “With under 17s being the only age group at which the RFU run a national competition this season is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the boys to show what they can do on the national stage. They have proved themselves to be the best team in the north west and have played some scintillating rugby at times.
“They are well aware, however, that to succeed at a national level they will have to step up another gear and I’m confident they have the desire and ability to do so.
“We are all really looking forward to the start of the national competition in February.”
