CROSS country runner Katie Brough produced a brilliant run to lead the England team home at the prestigious Cross International Venta de Banos event in Spain.
Making her senior England debut 12 years after first representing her country as a junior, the Warrington Athletics Club member produced a superb run in a high class field to finish ninth in 26mins 10secs.
The 6,775m flat course marked the first international event for Brough since returning to the sport from an eight-year hiatus.
The race was won by former world junior cross country champion and twice world junior 3,000m champion Mercy Cherono, of Kenya, in 24mins 33secs.
She beat Great Britian’sHannah Walker, running as an individual, into second.
