A RAFT of new signings seems to have done the job for Warrington Town.

Ciaran Kilheeney celebrated his recent move with a second goal in as many games during the Yellows’ 3-1 comeback victory against Bamber Bridge, while Jimmy McCarthy’s return and Adam Mitter’s introduction could not have gone much better as they helped Town to their fifth win in six matches.

The unbeaten run means Shaun Reid’s side move into sixth in Evo-Stik Division One North, nine points behind leaders Mossley.

A winning trip to 14th place Ossett Town on Saturday, kick off 3pm, would place Warrington in an excellent position to chase promotion in the new year.

Bridge stunned the Abacus Solicitors Community Stadium crowd on Saturday when Greg Johnstone landed the first blow.

The hosts reacted in the best possible way, equalising within three minutes thanks to Kilheeney’s second goal since his arrival from Chorley.

Yellows hit the front on 25 minutes when ex-Liverpool midfielder John Miles received the ball on the edge of the area, beat his marker and slammed home to give his side the lead for the first time in the game.

They wrapped up all three points with seven minutes to go, Miles adding his second and Town’s third with a curled effort from the edge of the area.
