Lymm 25 West Hartlepool 14
A THIRD win on the trot moves Lymm up to fifth place in National League Three North.
Victory was attained after overcoming early setbacks of losing captain Higginson to injury and falling behind to penalty conversions.
Lymm teams of old might have folded but this pack is made of sterner stuff and the team slowly grew into the game and a winning position.
Luke Emmitt bullied his way over the line for a try that gave Lymm a lead that they never lost.
Cormack Nolan’s converted touch down made it 18-6 at the break.
West Hartlepool brought it back to 18-9 with a penalty but their attacking play was too limited to threaten the supremacy of Lymm, whose final try was scored by Brotherton.
Lymm: Nolan, McEvoy, Knowles, Delaney, Natrass, Emmitt, Baker, Brotherton, Allen, Ashton, Giles, Darbyshire, Higginson, Oakes, Bray, Widdrington. Subs: Isherwood, Kinsey.
